My brush size and opacity don’t change when I draw
If your device is an iPhone 11 or later, brush size and opacity are set via the size and pressure sliders on the left-hand side of the screen. This differs from Procreate on the iPad where you can apply pressure to the screen to control these. Opacity is the degree of transparency between your layers. 100% opacity will completely hide the layers beneath. Set the pressure setting to a lower percentage to decrease opacity and reveal the layers beneath. For example, a pressure setting of 10% will be less opaque than a setting of 50%.
Is 3D Touch supported?
The iPhone 6s through to XS models support 3D Touch. On these devices, opacity and brush size can be controlled with the pressure you apply to the screen. You can modify pressure sensitivity via Modify → Actions → Preferences → Pressure Curve and in iPhone Accessibility settings.
Can I control pressure sensitivity with a third-party stylus?
iPhone 11 and later models do not officially support third-party styli and we do not advise using them with Procreate Pocket. However, you can still connect some styli via Modify → Actions → Preferences → Connect legacy stylus. For optimal performance, we recommend using the pressure slider with Procreate Pocket whether drawing with your finger or a stylus.
