Disc
Procreate Pocket's Color Disc is our proprietary way of selecting color. It combines an outer hue ring and an inner saturation and brightness disc.
On the right hand side of the top menu, you’ll see the active color. Tap it to open the Color Panel.
By default, the Colors interface shows Procreate Pocket’s Color Disc.
The rectangles on the top right of Color Disc display your primary and secondary colors.
By default you'll be selecting your primary color. Tap on the rightmost rectangle to select your secondary color. Tap back on the leftmost rectangle to select your primary color.
Secondary color is useful for when brushes have Color Dynamics.
Drag the reticle around the hue ring to select your base color.
Drag the reticle around the saturation disc to adjust the saturation and brightness values of the hue you have selected with the outer ring.
As you move the reticle left and right on the saturation disc, you'll be reducing and increasing the saturation of your color, respectively.
As you move the reticle down and up, you'll be reducing and increasing the brightness of your colour, respectively.
小窍门
You can pinch out to zoom the disc in order to have finer control over your saturation and brightness values. Also, double tap edges of the saturation disc to get pure saturation and brightness values. These options are explained in the following sections on this page.
Zooming the Saturation Disc
Pinch outwards on the saturation disc to expand it out to full size.
Once expanded, the saturation disc works the same as always. The only difference is you have more control over fine adjustments. As soon as you exit the Color Panel, the saturation disc will zoom back out to the default setting.
You can also pinch inwards to return it to default.
Snapping the Saturation Disc
Double-tap around the saturation disc to snap to the 'perfect' value closest to where you tapped.
For example, pure white (top left), pure black (bottom left), mid-gray (far left center), full saturation and brightness (top right). The very center will be 50% saturation, 50% brightness.
小窍门
Double-tapping is a quick way to get to commonly-used pure tones. You can double tap to snap while the saturation disc is zoomed in or zoomed out.
Expanded Colors Interface → Disc
Drag the handle at the top center of the Disc interface upwards to expand the view to include Color History and your active palette.
Drag it downwards a little to return to the regular view, or drag further down to close out of Colors.
