Isometric Guides give you the power to easily add a third dimension to your creations. This is ideal for engineering, architecture, and other technical graphics.
To set up a Isometric Guide, head into your canvas and expand your top toolbar with the ellipsis. Tap on Actions → Canvas and toggle on Drawing Guide. Now tap Edit Drawing Guide:
Your Drawing Guide appears as thin lines that overlay your artwork. By default it will open up to the condensed view, so that you can adjust it immediately:
Drag the blue Positional node to move the whole grid over the canvas.
Drag the green Rotational node (top center by default) to rotate the grid lines.
To reset the grid to the default position, tap one of the nodes, then tap Reset.
Drag the grey handle upwards to access more settings for your Drawing Guide.
To return to the canvas without making a change, tap Cancel. To commit your changes, tap the blue tick.
Swipe upwards using the grey handle at the top of the bottom toolbar to access more options.
Once you've expanded the toolbar, you can adjust the look and behavior of your guide.
From here, select the Isometric Guide option → the first of the four in the upper tabs.
Drag the blue Positional node to move the whole grid over the canvas.
Drag the green Rotational node (top center by default) to rotate the grid lines. (not shown in the above image)
To reset the grid to the default position, tap one of the nodes, then tap Reset.
Adjust the settings of your Isometric Guide to modify how it looks and feels:
Color: Adjust the color of the guide lines using the hue bar at the top of the Drawing Guides screen
Opacity: Adjust the transparency of the guide lines from invisible to opaque
Thickness: Adjust the thickness of the guide lines from invisible to noticeable
Grid Size: Adjust the scale of the grid
Units: Adjust the unit type you want your grid measurements to be (explained below this image popout)
Assisted Drawing: Sets whether the strokes you lay down will adhere to this drawing guide or now.
To return to the canvas without making a change, tap Cancel. To commit your changes, tap the blue tick.
When working with a 2D Grid or Isometric Grid, you have a Grid Size slider and a numerical input. Tapping on the input will allow you to select the grid size based on pixels, centimetres, millimetres or inches.
This can be especially useful when you have already created your canvas with particular digital or print dimensions in mind.
