Adjust the Selection mask visibility settings to make it easier to see what you have and have selected.

Selection Mask Visibility

Change the visibility of your selection mask.

Expand the top toolbar and select Actions → Preferences → Delays & Timers. At the bottom of the menu, you’ll see a slider for Selection mask visibility.

Adjusting the slider will change the strength of the Selection mask pattern. This will make it more or less translucent.

Make an active selection while adjusting the settings. That way you can preview the visibility change on your current selection in real-time.
