How do I move my Procreate artworks onto a new iPad?
By default, your Procreate files are stored locally on your iPad. To access the files on a new iPad, you must export your .procreate files to a shared location, transfer them directly to the new iPad, or backup and restore your iPad.
The new iPad must be logged into an Apple ID that has purchased the Procreate app or has access via Family Sharing .
Export to a shared location
Instructions for exporting your artwork can be found in this article .
Exporting your .procreate files to an external location is a good general practice for ensuring your artwork is not lost if your iPad is damaged, inadvertently erased, or no longer accessible. External locations include cloud storage, another device, or a physical drive.
Follow these steps on your new iPad to add the exported .procreate files on your iPad:
Download or transfer the .procreate files onto your new iPad Files.
Open Procreate.
Enter Split View with Procreate and Files open side-by-side.
Tap Select.
Tap the .procreate files you want to import.
Drag and drop them into Gallery in Procreate.
Heads Up
To import just one file, tap Import in the Procreate Gallery and navigate to the file.
Transfer using AirDrop
If you have access to both iPads you can use AirDrop to send the .procreate files directly to your new iPad by following these steps:

Tap Select while in the Gallery view.
Tap the artworks you want to export (a tick will indicate which ones you’ve selected).

Choose your new iPad from the list under Other Devices (if it's not visible, check your AirDrop settings ).
A notification will appear on your new iPad. Tap Accept.
The files will be saved in Files → Downloads. To open a single artwork, tap on it and it will open in Procreate.
To import multiple artworks into Procreate from Downloads, follow these steps:
On your new iPad, open Procreate.
Tap the top of the screen and then tap the ellipsis
Select Split View and open the Files app.
Navigate to the imported .procreate files (Files → Downloads).
Tap Select and tap the .procreate files you wish to import.
Tap and hold and then drag and drop them into the Procreate Gallery.
Pro Tip
You can also use AirDrop if you export the .procreate files to other Apple devices, such as a MacBook.
Restoring from a backup
Restoring from a backup will effectively duplicate your old iPad onto your new iPad.
To restore a backup on your new iPad, follow the instructions from Apple Support
Danger
Restoring from a backup isn’t recommended if you have content on your new iPad that you want to keep. Any files on your new iPad will be erased as the backup is installed.
