How to import video
You can import video in .mp4 or .hevc format within the Gallery view.
When you import video into Procreate, a new artwork is created with each video frame turned into an individual layer.
Importing videos into Procreate is a fantastic way to make use of Procreate’s Animation Assist mode. You can learn more about Animation Assist in the Procreate Handbook.
Import a video from Files or Photos apps
To import a video file into a new artwork, follow these steps:
In the Gallery of Procreate, tap Import to import a video saved in Files app or tap Photo to import a video stored in Photos app.
Select the video you want to import.
The text ‘Importing’ and a progress animation will appear.
Once the import is complete, a new artwork will open in Animation Assist mode.
Heads Up
The number of layers created from your video is determined by the amount your hardware can support for the canvas size. If your video is long, some frames may not get imported due to layer limits.
