My movie lags or isn’t playing back smoothly
Experiencing lag while using Procreate Dreams could be caused by the amount of content on your Timeline or your iPad running low on memory or storage. Try the following steps to resolve this issue:
Exit the current movie and return to the Theater. Re-open the same movie and see if performance has improved.
If the issue persists, exit Procreate Dreams completely:
Swipe up from the bottom edge of your iPad screen until you see all open apps.
Swipe upwards on Procreate Dreams to exit.
Reopen it from the Home Screen and test out your Movie again.
Update the app
Check that you are running the latest version of Procreate. To update:
Open App Store and search for ‘Procreate Dreams’.
Enter the Procreate Dreams page and tap the blue Update button if it appears.
If the issue persists, create a movie with lower resolution and less content.
iPad maintenance steps
If the issue still persists, try these iPad maintenance steps:
Clear space on the iPad.
Ensure you are running the latest version of iPadOS by checking Settings > General > Software Update.
Follow the steps below to force restart the iPad.
Force restart your iPad
There are two different ways to force your iPad to restart depending on your device model.
If your iPad doesn’t have a Home Button:
Quickly press and release the volume up button followed by the volume down button.
Press and hold the Power Button. When 'Slide to power off' appears, keep holding the Power Button until the Apple logo appears.
Release the button and wait for your iPad to restart.
If your iPad has a Home Button:
Press and hold the Home and Power buttons together until you see the Apple logo appear.
Release the buttons and wait for your iPad to restart.

Record your screen with a camera
If you still experience lag, please send us a short video that demonstrates the lag. Please record this video using a camera, such as the one on your phone, rather than screen recording on the iPad itself. Our Customer Care team will assist you with possible causes for the behavior.
