How do I quickly draw a straight line or shape?
Draw precise lines and shapes with QuickShape in Procreate. Simply draw a rough version of the shape and keep your Apple Pencil or finger held on the screen to lock it to a neat shape.
How to draw a QuickShape
With an artwork open and Paint or Erase selected, follow these steps:
Draw a rough version of any shape. This could be a common shape, like a line, rectangle, triangle, or circle, or a multiple-line (polyline) shape from your imagination.
Keep your Apple Pencil or finger held down when you finish drawing your shape. Procreate will give the shape more consistent lines or curves. Drag your pen or finger around to change the shape and orientation.
Optional: Touch another finger to the screen while your Apple Pencil or finger is held down and the shape will be converted to a more regular or standard form, e.g. A triangle snap to equal length edges or a line will snap lock in 15° increments.
How to edit your QuickShape
Tap the notification at the top of the screen when you create a QuickShape to enable the edit shape menu.
With the edit shape menu activated, you can switch your shape type, e.g., change a circle to a square. Transformation nodes will appear around the shape, useful for making detailed adjustments.
Heads Up
You can access the QuickShape edit menu immediately after making a shape. If you need to edit the shape later, use the Transform options.
