The Transform tool is available when in Draw & Paint mode. Use this tool to reposition, rotate, scale, stretch, shear, skew, and warp your Drawing or Flipbook layer, or selection.
Tap 'Transform' at the top of the interface while in Draw & Paint mode to enter Transform mode, and tap again at any time to exit it. When you enter Transform, it will be set to Uniform mode by default, and you will see a bounding box around your content.
Tap the options on this bar to change your current Transform mode. Procreate Dreams offers the following modes, which are explained in the sections below:
Uniform - scale your content and maintain its aspect ratio
Freeform - scale and stretch your content ignoring its ratio
Distort - skew and shear the content
Warp - enlarge, shift and fold your content using a mesh grid
Immediately flips your content along the horizontal axis.
Immediately flips your content along the vertical axis.
Rotate your content forty-five degrees clockwise. Tap this multiple times to quickly rotate in these increments.
Choose which interpolation method you would like to use when transforming your content. Bilinear is default, but you can tap on this to switch between these three options:
Nearest Neighbour - very little softening, good for crispier, cleaner edges
Bilinear - a little softening, nice blend of precision and softness
Bicubic - more edge softening, will have a more gradated edge
Revert any changes you have made in this particular session of using Transform.
In all Transform modes except Warp, you can move and rotate the image. In the below example, the bounding box has been altered, and the content has been rotated and moved down and to the right a little.
Drag inside or outside the content to move it across the canvas
Move the green node to rotate your content around its center
Adjust the amber node to change the way your bounding box fits around your content
Uniform mode enables you to scale your content up or down while preserving its aspect ratio.
Drag any of the nodes towards the center of the content to scale it down in that direction, or away from the center to scale it up in that direction.
Using Freeform you can squash and stretch the content across the four primary directions.
Grab and drag a central side node to shrink or expand the content on that axis, or use a corner node to shrink or expand it across both axes.
Shear and skew content using Distort. Grab and drag a corner node to shift the perceived perspective that you're viewing the content on. Move a central node to shear the content along that axis.
Expand, fold, and push parts of your content using Warp. Drag the corners, sides, or the mesh itself to warp any part of your content in any direction. Drag a corner node towards the middle of the mesh to fold part of your image over itself.
Use Selections to pick a certain part of your layer (or layers) that you'd like to transform. Use any of the Selection methods to isolate an area, then tap Transform to begin modifying only that area.
Transform multiple layers at once! Open up your Layers, swipe left to right on multiple, then tap Transform. You can now apply adjustments to all of this content en masse. Just give Procreate Dreams a moment to render this once you exit and finalize your Transform action.
The above tip also applies to selections made on multiple Layers - use this to modify specific sections of your content at the same time.
Remember that you don't have to drag from within content to move it - use your finger or Apple Pencil outside the bounding box when in Uniform, Freeform, or Distort mode to move your content.
