Procreate Dreams features an interface designed to make animation accessible to beginners and professionals alike. Get to know the Procreate Dreams interface to start your animation journey.
There are four main parts to the Procreate Dreams interface:
Theater: where you create, open, and share your movie files.
Timeline: where you keyframe, perform, and edit content.
Stage: the viewport for your movie and area to modify its spatial elements.
Canvas: where you create Drawings and animate your Flipbooks.
When first opening Procreate Dreams you begin in the Theater. Here you can create, open, and share your movies.

When you open a movie, the Timeline sits in the bottom half of your screen. Add and edit content in the Timeline, and make use of the three main Modes: Compose, Perform, and Keyframe.

The Stage area is in the top half of your screen when you first open a movie. This is where you play back your work as you edit and create in the Timeline. Consider it the viewport for your movie project. You can also move and scale elements on the Stage without affecting their keyframes in Compose mode. The Stage always has a light gray outline.

The canvas area is where you paint and create your Drawings and Flipbooks. Each canvas area is tied to the specific drawing or Flipbook you are currently editing. When you are in the canvas, you are in Draw & Paint mode, which gives you access to a whole range of brushes and tools to create the elements of your movie.
