When you load into a new canvas, you'll see Paint by default in the top left in your tools menu.
Tap the ellipsis to see your expanded tools, including smudge, erase, layers, colors, etc. Swipe the menu upwards or to the left to contract the menu again.
Switch between paint, smudge and erase while using the exact same brush quickly. Tap and hold an unselected Paint, Smudge, or Erase icon. This will transfer your current brush settings over from the previous tool you’ve been using.
Tap twice on any of the paint tools to open up the Brush Libraries. These store all your brushes in libraries and sets within. Tap any brush and back on the canvas to begin using the brush with the selected tool.
When you have a brush selected, drag your finger across the canvas to make a mark with that brush.
Move the upper slider on the right of your screen to control the size of your brush.
Move the lower slider on the right of your screen to control the pressure applied with that brush. Most brushes act dynamically when a different level of 'pressure' is applied. For example, many brushes will increase in size or opacity as the pressure value increases.
As you drag the sliders up and down, pull away from them, towards the center of the canvas, to allow for more precise control as you move up and down.
You can tap and hold on the lower slider's node to change this from pressure to opacity. This just means that you'll be controlling how transparent that brush is using the slider; the lower the slider, the more transparent the brush.
When painting, you'll lay down color based on your active color, set using the color icon in the top right of your expanded tools menu
When smudging, the brush will drag across content already laid down on the layer. it will bring across a degree of the content combined with the texture of the brush you're using to smudge
When erasing, the brush will remove areas of content using the texture of the brush you have selected
