Use Drawings to create elements like backgrounds and consistent entities that will help create the scene for your animation.
Adding new Drawing is useful if you want to animate different elements within a single scene. Try using Drawings for structural elements, backgrounds, and objects you intend to keyframe or perform with.
Follow these steps to create a new drawing to work on.
Tap the Create button on the far right to open the Create menu.
Tap the Drawing button to create and enter Draw & Paint mode.
Tap the Paint icon to select a brush of your choice.
Tap the active color to open Colors and select a color of your choice.
Use your finger or Apple Pencil to start painting on the Stage and add content into the new Drawing on your Timeline. Your new Drawing will automatically extend to the full duration of your movie, or until it runs into content on the same track.
For information on how to use the Paint tools, head to the Brushes section. For details on the settings available in the Draw & Paint interface, head to Draw & Paint settings section.
Drawings can be really useful for larger background images like a sweeping environment that you might like to keyframe slowly across the Stage area. Try using Drawings for smaller elements that you'll keyframe, too, like a basketball that a character could be throwing (using Keyframe or Perform mode).
