Customize Procreate Pocket to suit your workflow. Adjust the look of the interface, mirror your canvas to a connected screen or connect a third-party stylus.
Expand the top toolbar with the ellipsis, then tap Actions → Preferences to change the appearance and behavior of the Procreate Pocket interface.
Achieve this using a series of easy-to-use toggles and sliders.
The Procreate Pocket interface offers two visual modes. Dark Interface is an unobtrusive charcoal interface that keeps the focus on your artwork. Light Interface is ideal for higher contrast when you’re working in bright environments.
Use this toggle to switch between the two interface modes.
Procreate Pocket allows you to set your Brush Size & Opacity sidebar on the left or right of your canvas.
Toggle this on to have the sidebar on the right, toggle this off to have the sidebar on the left.
If your iPhone does not have 3D Touch, Procreate Pocket will detect this and change the lower sidebar slider to adjust the pressure value of your current brush.
Toggle this off to have the lower slider impact only opacity, and not simulate different pressure as you change the value.
Sets how Procreate Pocket scales your brush. Tap on this option to change between the two options below:
Relative to canvas sets it to try and keep the size of your brush stroke uniform as you zoom in and out of the canvas
Relative to screen sets it to try and keep the size of the brush consistent with the screen space itself
Connect a second display via cable or AirPlay and toggle Projector. The second display will show your canvas only, full-screen - with no interface, zoom, or interruptions. This helps you work on fine details in Procreate Pocket while keeping an eye on the big picture.
Turn on QuickMenu and then tap the canvas twice to invoke. When you invoke QuickMenu, you can dismiss it by tapping off, continuing to paint, or selecting a QuickMenu option.

To see more Preferences options, drag upwards using the small central handle at the top of the popover. Return to default view by dragging down slightly, and drag down completely to dismiss Prefs.
When you switch the Brush Cursor on, the outline of your Brush shape will appear when you touch the canvas. This is so you can see in advance the shape of the mark you’ll make.
Procreate Pocket now stores brushes using the iOS Files app.
Toggling this option on sets the app to use your brush libraries in your iCloud Drive. The path is Files → iCloud Drive → Procreate Pocket Brushes.
If you toggle this off, Procreate Pocket will use the brush libraries located locally on your iPhone in Files → On My iPhone → Procreate Pocket → Brushes.
When you toggle this on or off, Procreate will ask you to confirm and move 'All brushes' across to the new storage area, or just 'New brushes only'.
All brushes moves your entire collection from the original storage area to the newly-chosen one, whereas New brushes only moves any new imports or creations from that point on to the newly-chosen storage area. You also have an option to cancel the toggle action.
Stabilization takes a moving average of a stroke and draws that on the canvas. The higher the Stabilization, the more it will average out the wobbles in a stroke. This will make strokes deliberately smoother and straighter.
Use the slider to set the percentage of Stabilization you prefer.
Stabilization is also dependent on the speed of your stroke. The faster you draw, the more it will try to smooth a stroke out.
Stabilization can be useful for artists of all abilities. At lower levels it can help smooth the stokes of even the steadiest hand.
Motion Filtering is a new take on stabilization and uses more advanced algorithms. It’s designed specifically with hand tremors and accessibility in mind.
Stabilization averages out wobbles in a stroke by squashing them towards a central line. Motion Filtering deletes the extremities of a stroke’s wobbles entirely without squashing.
Use the slider to set the percentage of Motion Filtering you prefer.
This allows for smoother and straighter strokes no matter what speed lines are drawn at. This also means hand tremors will be less represented when making a stroke on the canvas.
Motion Filtering Expression only works when Motion Filtering is on. While Motion Filtering helps take the wobbles out of strokes, it can also make them too straight and smooth.
Motion Filtering Expression puts some expressive feeling back into strokes.
Use the slider to set the percentage of Motion Filtering Expression you prefer.
The higher Motion Filtering is set, the less effect Motion Filter Expression can have on a stroke.
Tip Attachment works in conjunction with Motion Filtering and establishes the start point of your stroke.
Tip Attachment is on by default, however you can use the toggle to turn Tip Attachment on or off. When Tip Attachment is on, strokes begin and continue where the tip of a stroke starts and tracks on the canvas.
With Tip Attachment toggled off, the start point of a stroke is established by looking at multiple start points and finding an average between them. This can be useful for artists with tremors who can’t precisely control where the start of their stroke is laid down.
You may want or need a combination of all the Stabilization features above to achieve the best ‘feel’ for you. Try testing combinations out on a blank canvas. Try different percentages and speeds to get a good feel for what works. This will help you figure out how much stroke stabilization you like, or need when working.
Explained in the section below, Delays & Timers holds adjustable options for when things appear after an action is initiated - e.g. how long you have to hold down after a stroke before QuickShape is invoked.
To access timer preferences tap the ellipsis button → Actions → Preferences → Delays & Timers.
One of Procreate Pocket’s most powerful shortcuts is the two-finger hold for Rapid Undo. Hold two fingers to the canvas, after a brief delay, Procreate Pocket will rapidly move back through Undo steps. This lets you quickly get rid of unwanted changes. This slider allows you to set the length of the delay before Rapid Undo activates, from no delay to 1.5 seconds.
Choose the amount of time it takes to invoke the Eyedropper when holding your finger on the canvas.

Choose the amount of time QuickShape to kick in when holding your finger on the canvas after drawing a shape.

The Interface’s Auto-hide occurs when you tap a canvas. This lets you see the canvas at full screen with no UI distractions. Auto-Hide Interface lets you choose the amount of time the UI disappears before returning to the screen.
When you commit a selection, it becomes a selection mask. This shows you which areas of the canvas are masked (not selected). Masked areas look like moving diagonal shading and are semi-transparent by default. Adjusting the Selection mask visibility slider changes this transparency. This makes your Mask more or less solid. If you have an active selection mask while you adjust the slider, you'll see the change in real-time.
